Fair Isle Knitting - Shetland, Tips and Tricks, Q and A

Instructor: Janette Budge       Class Capacity: 25
Class Level: All levels welcome.

Description ~ Fair Isle Knitting - Shetland, Tips and Tricks, Q and A

An illustrated talk on Fair Isle knitting from the late 1800’s through to the development of yokes. This talk will detail how my own family history fits into the story. The talk includes photos taken from the family album. This lecture will also incorporate other elements of Fair Isle knitting, Shetland life in times past and Shetland sheep in their variety of natural colors.

Janette has many knitting tips and tricks she can share. Including a unique way of creating a stitch that even the most advanced knitters have not seen before that is hardly visible so works in well to stockinette sections of your work.  This is something Janette will demonstrate in class as well as this lecture.

After the lecture Janette will answer questions about Fair Isle knitting and Shetland’s knitting history.
